The most admired edition and rarely used as 'prize books', cf. Dibdin I, 497f; Sandys II, 453f; Schweiger I, 95; Spoelder, 585 (Gron. 3). - Wesseling (1692-1764) studied as a disciple of Gronovius and Hemsterhuis in Franeker and Leiden. He was a professor at Franeker for 11 years and in Utrecht for 20 years.
