Antonie Grevenstuk (1828-1896), vice-president of "De Nederlandsche Drukpers" (organizer of the parade), had his own shop in Amsterdam, and became calligrapher to Prins Hendrik in 1877. Besides the splendid plates and miniature drawings interspersed in the text, the book lists names of all the employees of all the firms participating in the festivities, mainly from Amsterdam. These include, for example, Lettergieterij Tetterode, Stoomwerktuigenfabriek Paul van Vlissingen & Dudok van Heel, Firma Van Heel & Holtzman, fabriek van Cycloop IJzerwerken, Diamantslijperij Maatschappij M.E. Coster, and the Bemanning der Medea en Urania (of the KNSM). Also all printed ephemera and a memorial coin are inserted in the book. D.G.
